21 months

Aidan,

Today you are 21 months old and just 3 short months away from turning 2. Wow! You have really grown up a lot this last month and it has been fun to see all the new ways in which you are becoming a little boy.

You are talking non stop these days and while you still jabber on nonsensically a lot of the time, you know how to say many words. You want to put them together and make sentences, but you have not quite figured that out yet. You do sometimes say 2 words at a time, but most things are a mix of body language and single word requests. Some of your new words this month are: big, read, straw, water, up, draw, out, down, cake, boy, guy, bike, ride, neigh, eat, help, Bob, "Mimi", house, bed, raisin, bug, snow, star, elbow, bread, toast, teeth, socks, toes, tools, shoes, dough, pee-pee, pancake, money, smoke, honey, drink, and Elmo ( you now say it clearly instead of la-la).

You were a great traveler this past month and went on two road trips. While you were excellent in the car, your sleep habits changed while away. I felt like you were a newborn again! Luckily, once home again, your sleep evened out right away.

You stayed healthy this entire month which was a great answer to my prayers. I was so happy that you were well for all the holiday travel and activities.

In the last few days you have started sitting on the potty and are now obsessed with doing so. Unfortunately, you have yet to actually go to the bathroom in the potty, but you are practicing the art of sitting there. You hate to put your diaper back on again though and you protest that you are going to either pee-pee or poo-poo in the potty.

You love your letters and can easily identify, A, B, C, E, O, and sometimes I. You notice them on the smallest of labels and signs. It is so cute!

You have completely stopped drinking milk and don't have a "bottle" in the morning or before bed anymore. We try to make up for you lack of milk by eating lots of yogurt, one of your few staple foods.

Aidan, you are a joy and so full of life. I can't imagine how much more fun you will be and how much more joy you will bring into our lives as you grow. I am so blessed to have such a happy, healthy boy who loves life like you do.

Love,

Momma
