Little friends.

It is not unusual these days to hear little sweet noises coming from Aidan's room after he awakes these days. Instead of standing up and yelling for us, he sits happily and visits with his little stuffed friends. He has four of them in his crib at all times: puppy, Bungle (his beloved monkey), giraffe, and lamb. If I walk in quietly without him hearing me I get to observe his little conversations. He talks quietly while looking at them one by one, hugging each of them and sometime laying down on them and sucking his thumb. The other day, after a longer than normal nap, I went in to get him, but when I picked him up he sat back down and reached for his lamb. He had not had time to love on his animals and was not ready for me to get him quite yet. How sweet he is sometimes!

11 months

I am always a day behind it seems. Last night was filled with craziness as Seth and I attempted to take apart Aidan's old crib and put together his new one while Aidan marched around eating styrofoam and throwing his books in the trash.

Aidan has really grown up this past month. He is now walking all over the place. He only crawls when he falls over and needs to find a way to get back up again. He still hasn't figured out how to get up from the center of the room yet, but can pick up objects off the floor while standing. Aidan has started to say a few new words lately. His two favorites are "dog" and "duck"....these tend to sound more like "gog" and "du", but he knows what they stand for at least. He just started clapping his hands and he loves to swing his arms around excitedly while he walks.

Aidan loves to eat! I am giving him a lot more of our food now, but he just wants to eat all the time. He especially loves bread and applesauce right now.

He is really into reading books and has quite a long attention span for his age when he is being read to. He has started to learn how toys work and spends a lot more time looking intently at things and trying to figure them out. He is so cute to watch.

Aidan continues to love anything electronic and cries for the remote control, phone, and video camera. He also loves to put everything in his mouth right now as he is working on a couple more teeth.

He is such a joy and so fun to have around. We love to watch him grow and learn new things each day.

Sledding!

On Saturday we woke up to a beautiful blanket of snow and it ended up snowing all morning too. Since Aidan has been sick almost every time it has snowed he has never been out in it, so we thought this was a perfect chance to make some memories. We bundled him up and took him sledding. He seemed to really enjoy it even though he did face-plant in the snow a few times. He was all smiles and so happy. What a little trooper!
